Leadership in practice
Grow your business without sacrificing your family.
When every decision comes back to you, growth can take more from home than you intended. Begin by examining what your business requires from you and what your family needs you to protect.
Name what growth is meant to serve
Write down what a better business should make possible in your life. Be specific: time with your children, a healthier marriage, meaningful work, or greater capacity to give.
Use Purpose, Peace, Profit as a decision filter. An opportunity deserves a closer look when it creates revenue while pulling you away from the responsibilities you value most.
- What am I building, and who is it meant to serve?
- What am I no longer willing to sacrifice for growth?
Find the decisions that keep returning
For one week, record the decisions that interrupt your day. Look for recurring requests, unclear standards, and work that waits for your approval. Choose one pattern to address first.
Give a capable team member a clear outcome, authority to act, boundaries, and a review time. Agree on the situations that genuinely require escalation. Delegation takes attention before it creates capacity.
Make boundaries operational
A boundary needs a practical agreement behind it. Tell your team when you are available, what counts as urgent, and who handles decisions while you are away.
Have the same conversation at home. Ask what presence would look like to your spouse and children. Put those commitments in your calendar and review whether you are keeping them.
Use AI on a defined problem
Choose a repetitive task with a clear standard, such as preparing a meeting agenda or summarizing an approved process. Decide who reviews the output and what information is appropriate to use.
Measure whether the change actually saves time or improves quality. Use that capacity deliberately rather than automatically filling it with more work.
Choose one change for this week
Select one decision to delegate, one family commitment to protect, and one person who will ask you whether you followed through. Review the result before adding another change.
LCL brings this work into formation, mentorship, and brotherhood. The aim is a leader who can carry responsibility with clarity and live the standards he sets.
